Audrey Wilkinson Winemakers Lunch & Dinner

18 Mar 2010 to 20 Mar 2010 - 6.30pm

Join us for our first Audrey Wilkinson wine makers dinner.

Perched atop a foot hill of the Brokenback Mountain Ranges, the Audrey Wilkinson Cellar Door is a true must see site of the Hunter Valley.
First planted in 1866 by Frederick Wilkinson, Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard is recognised as one of the first vineyards in Pokolbin, Hunter Valley. Frederick and his two sons Audrey and Garth worked tirelessly to establish the vineyard’s reputation of fine craftsmanship and award winning wine. Yes, Audrey is a man!

The Agnew family purchased the vineyard in 2004, and have strived to continue the legacy that Audrey created. Today, Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard is home to an onsite Museum which honours the work of Audrey and his family, and also a brand new, state of the art winery.

Our winemaker, Jeff Byrne, is a native Canadian, who studied wine science through Charles Sturt University, having previously completed a science degree at the University of New Brunswick in his homeland before moving to Australia in 1999. Jeff joined us in June 2008, and is the first person to make wine onsite since Audrey himself, over 50 years ago.
