After receiving extremely bad service from a nearby Newcastle 4star??? Hotel on a recent visit to Newcastle, your friendly, welcoming staff provided a much needed balm to a weary traveller. They really are a credit to you.

A big thankyou to yourself and all the staff involved in organising the function held on Friday 11th on December.

I was extremely impressed with your professionalism in organising the event and the ease in which you did so.

The staff on the night were also very courteous and helpful.

Guests frequently commented on the quality of the food and drinks, and were all extremely impressed with the evening as a whole.

I have no hesitation in booking another function with Silo, nor passing on the good word to friends and family.

Steven Allen is out of the office today but I personally want to thank you for the exceptional standard of service and food we received from your restaurant and staff on Friday night.

Between the fantastic venue at the Maritime Centre and Silo Restaurant we are absolutely thrilled with the success of our evening. Our clients conveyed the same to us throughout the evening which is not only a compliment to your business but also to ours which is extremely important to us.

We celebrated a 40th birthday there with lunch. The service was probably the best we'd experienced in Newcastle. The food was excellent and the sparkling Jancz wine sold by the glass was great. We will be back to try a dinner."

Dear Mark,

Last October my wife I Celebrated our wedding reception at your restaurant. Belatedly, we'd like to send our warmest thanks. Everyone said they had an absolute ball and the food was delicious. Your staff were fantastic & catered to our every want & need. I personally would like to thank you for all your help in planning the evening especially selecting the food & beverage package. Without your help, the planning of our wedding would have been even more stressful. My husband and I had a rare afternoon without children (1 & 2 years old). We had tickets to a play and were looking for somewhere close to have lunch. After checking out several Cafe's we found Silo. Not being a local we decided to follow the crowd and we are very pleased we did. The food was superb, everything was cooked to perfection and tasted terrific. The staff were friendly and helpful. I tried the Belgium Beer Special - Steamed Mussels, chips & Belgium beer, yum!. I know have a favourite beer - Real Pilsner. My husband had the salmon which was perfect. The drinks menu is abundant and the capiroska's are the best I have ever had, I could have had a few more.
To all the staff at Silo, thank you for making our lunch date a memorable one.

Hi Mark (and Dave),

Just want to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. We had a fantastic afternoon out on Saturday and the food was absolutely divine.

When our prawn bruschetta arrived I initially thought that you may have been laying it on just for me, but then I noticed the quality and portions were just as generous for other patrons. It was almost a whole meal in itself! I also overheard a few passing comments about the attentive service.

At the end of our 4 courses my husband and I were chatting about the exquisite flavours of each dish (and debating over whether the Salmon was better than the Beef) when Dave came and introduced himself. We were thrilled to meet him. He's so down to earth and obviously very passionate about food. He gave us the low-down on the exclusively sourced, high-quality Tasmanian Salmon – very impressive.

We eat out occasionally but, with young children, not as much as we’d like to, so we make the most of it and choose quality – and good service is a huge part of the experience. Silo is our new favourite restaurant (and not just because I designed your website!). The prices are very reasonable and true value-for-money when you deliver to such high standards. Plus you can’t get a better setting than Harbour-side!

Dear Mark

I just wanted to send a quick email to say what a brilliant time we had at my “pre wedding drinks” on Saturday night.

All of my guests were over the moon with the service, and the food was all beautiful! The waiter that was looking after our group (sorry, I am unsure of his name) was so attentive, and many of my guests commented on what a difference great staff like that can make to a night out! He really did a fantastic job, and it definitely enhanced our Silo experience. We would be pleased if you could pass on our sincere thanks to him, as he made our night run very smoothly.

Anyway, I just thought I would pass on how extremely happy we were with our night, and that we will definitely be returning to your establishment in the future!

We had a small informal gathering after our wedding on Saturday 20th October and would like to thank you for a great time.

Everything was excellent, the food, the drinks, and, especially, the friendly, efficient service.

We are sorry we don't know the name of the lady who looked after us so well on the night, but we would like to commend her for a job well done. She provided a level of service that seems to be increasingly rare these days.

As we live in Japan we unfortunately cannot come to Silo as often as we'd like, but the next time we're in Newcastle we'll be sure to drop in!

Our Wedding reception at Silo was everything we were hoping for.

They provided us with a simple, stylish venue with great food and service.

The location was perfect, and the sun setting over the harbour added to the relaxed atmosphere and made for some beautiful photos.

Dear Mark,

Hope you are well.

Richard and I would like to thank you for all of your assistance and support of our reception at your restaurant.

It was perfect and all guests mentioned that your restaurant was really great, including food and services.

Especially, the guests were happy with duck as main. They thought duck was usually greasy, but it was tender and just beautiful! I was sort of afraid of comments by Japanese guests, however, there was absolutely NO problem! (it's pity that Japanese couldn't eat much because they were too full...)

Anyways, we all enjoyed very, very much and the reception was successful.

Once again, we would like to appreciate your help, especially Trish. She responded to our (selfish) request very quickly and accurately. She is awesome!!

Dear Silo,

This afternoon my husband and I came in to Silo for a coffee and ended up having a pizza, we were very impressed with the customer service. After approaching the bar Paul made us feel very welcome and attended to our order.

Trish approached us with a beautiful smile and was very pleasant with nothing being too much trouble. We watched as Trish did a great job looking after everyone always with a happy face, that girl is gold.

We just wanted to let you know that we really appreciated the good service and it is often hard to find.The service made our outing very enjoyable and we will definitely be back and also bring our friends.

Everyone who waited on us could not have been more helpful!

Whatever you are doing to train your team in customer service, don't stop - it's great! The best thing is that they aren't pretentious. They obviously believe in the Silo product and take pride in selling it!

Well done to a great team. We will be spreading the word to anyone we know that goes to Silo.
